Your child sees sheep in a storybook every night, and then one day gets to feed grass to a real one and laughs so loudly the whole farm hears. That is the moment that makes the drive out of town worth it.

Nakhon Pathom has a lot of farm-style cafes, most of them not far from Bangkok, but not every one lets kids properly feed the animals. We picked only places where kids do it themselves, there is shade to rest in and there is food for the parents. Cafes with a small animal corner for a short stop are in kid-friendly cafes in Nakhon Pathom.

Where is each farm, and how do we get there from Bangkok?

Quick Answer: The Salaya side is closest to Bangkok, then Sam Phran and Nakhon Chai Si. Kamphaeng Saen is the furthest and best as a full-day trip.

AreaFarmGood for
Salaya, PhutthamonthonThe Salaya Leisure ParkA half-day from Bangkok

How do little kids feed animals safely?

Quick Answer: Stay right next to your child, have them hold food on a flat palm or use a tray, and wash hands with soap every time after touching animals.

  • Flat palm: animals will not nip fingers. Teach your child before you reach the pen.
  • Never behind big animals: buffalo, horses and elephants can step back if startled.
  • No hands in mouths until they are washed. Hand gel helps, but soap and water is better.
  • Free-roaming animals, like the wild boar at Lhor Liang Farm, are for watching from a distance, not chasing.

Which farm suits which age?

Quick Answer: Little ones do best at farms with small animals and shade. Older kids enjoy farms with activities to try or shows to watch.

  • 1 to 3: Lhor Liang Farm (rabbits, lambs, a shallow pool) and Dubua Cafe
  • 4 to 7: The Ugly Duckling Learning Farm and The Salaya Leisure Park
  • 4 and up: Samphran Elephant Ground & Zoo

What to bring to a farm

Quick Answer: Small cash for animal feed, wet wipes, hand gel, a hat, a change of clothes and shoes that can get dirty.

For Lhor Liang Farm, bring swimwear and a towel too. To build a full day with other places, see a one-day family trip in Nakhon Pathom and finish with dinner at one of the kid-friendly restaurants in Nakhon Pathom.

Check before you go

Quick Answer: Opening hours, entry fees, feed prices and show times change. Message the page or call before you leave home every time.

The information on this page was checked on 10 October 2026 against the reviews and sources listed below. Most prices come from visitors’ reviews, not announcements from the farms themselves, so treat them as a rough guide.

The animals do not need to be big or unusual. Feeding one with their own hand is a memory your child will keep for a long time.
